  • How do I turn my water off?

If you experience a water leak, your first step should be to turn off the water. According to David Hicks Plumbing, the water cut-off is typically located about six inches from the water main, and it may be above ground, near your home. If you're within Houston city limits, you can dial 311 and request that public works temporarily shut off your water. Once the water is off, contact us to address the source of the leak.

  • How do I turn my gas off?

David Hicks Plumbing advises that if you suspect a gas leak, immediately call CenterPoint Energy® at (713) 659-2111 for an emergency shut-off. They will turn off your gas and remove your meter until a city inspection is completed. Note that all maintenance disconnections require a city inspection before services can be restored. CenterPoint will not repair any gas leaks. Only call CenterPoint Energy if necessary, and then contact us for repair and inspection.
